This patented technology can be used to retrofit the 19.5B sq./ft. of existing windows in commercial and residential structures in the US, transforming them into highly energy efficient smart windows. Our electrochromic thin film uses an electric field to change a window from clear to reflective, allowing users to control the transparency based on the time of day, temperature, exposure to sunlight, or virtually any other factor. It keeps buildings cooler, potentially reducing air conditioner usage, costs and related CO2 emissions by 25% - 40%. Widespread use of this technology will result in significantly reducing green-house gas emissions, and helping to lessen America’s dependence on fossil fuels.
